Netanyahu Orders Evacuation of West Bank Outposts Amid US Pressure

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the evacuation of unauthorized outposts established in Area B of the West Bank, following significant pressure from the US administration. The directive, reported by "Yedioth Ahronoth" on Sunday, aims to address American concerns about the expansion of settlements in these sensitive areas.

Security officials estimate there are approximately 100 unauthorized outposts across the West Bank, with 15 to 20 located in Areas A and B. Sources familiar with the matter stated that clear instructions have been issued by the National Security Council to dismantle these outposts, particularly those in Area B. The Prime Minister's primary concern appears to be the US pressure, as the administration fears further settlement expansion in Area B.

Netanyahu has also instructed ministers to refrain from criticizing IDF commanders and to provide them with support. Concurrently, security forces are warning of a substantial increase in terror alerts and attempted attacks in the West Bank. Security forces reportedly thwart dozens of attacks each week, some in advanced stages.

In anticipation of the upcoming Jewish High Holy Days, known as the High Holidays, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are expected to deploy at least two additional battalions to the West Bank. An additional divisional command is also on standby, ready to be activated if needed in the region.
