Two Israelis Die in Separate Accidents in Vietnam and Thailand

Two Israeli citizens have died in separate accidents in Southeast Asia. In Vietnam, 23-year-old David Ben-Lulu from Jerusalem was killed in a motorcycle crash hundreds of kilometers from Hanoi on Friday, September 4. He also held French citizenship, complicating the repatriation process. Israel's Foreign Ministry and the international division of ZAKA, a volunteer emergency response organization, are working with Vietnamese and French authorities to handle the necessary paperwork and transport his body back to Israel for burial. ZAKA commander in France, Serge Ben-Haim, stated that his organization is coordinating continuously with French, Vietnamese, and Israeli authorities, and that French foreign ministry officials provided specific instructions to their team in Hanoi. The case requires coordination between multiple countries' agencies, according to ZAKA's deputy operational director, Haim Weingarten.

Separately, an Israeli man in his 70s drowned in a hotel swimming pool in Pattaya, Thailand. Details about this incident were reported on Sunday, September 6. ZAKA's international division is also involved in assisting with the arrangements for this case.
