Arab-Israeli Party to Hold Emergency Session on Candidate Nomination
The Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (Hadash) party leadership has called for an extraordinary session of its national council to convene on Monday evening in Shfaram. The meeting aims to finalize the nomination of Jaafar Farah for the second seat on the party's list, following his unexpected withdrawal of his candidacy and subsequent retraction.
The emergency session was convened based on decisions by the party's national secretariat and the Central Committee of the Communist Party, according to an official message sent to council members. The message stated that the meeting is being held in light of Farah's "sudden announcement" on Sunday, in which he retracted his previously announced decision to withdraw his candidacy, which was published last Friday.
The session is scheduled for 6:00 PM at the "Al-Awadiya" hall in Shfaram. The agenda includes reviewing a report prepared by an examination committee regarding testimonies against Farah, as well as newly received statements. Farah will be given a fair opportunity to present his response to the council.
The council will vote on two main paths. First, they will vote on a recommendation to withdraw Farah's candidacy. If this recommendation is approved, the council will then proceed to elect an alternative candidate for the second seat. The party leadership noted that the national council, as the supreme body, is authorized to determine the voting mechanism for the first part of the session's agenda.
