Education Laureate Adi Altshuler Nominated for Minister Role by Eisenkot's Party

Adi Altshuler, a recipient of the Israel Prize for Education and Social Entrepreneurship, has joined Gadi Eisenkot's "Yashar" party and been nominated as its candidate for Minister of Education. This marks the first time "Yashar" has publicly presented a candidate for a specific ministerial position. Altshuler, 39, brings over two decades of experience in educational and social initiatives. She founded the youth movement Krembo Wings and the Zikaron BaSalon initiative, which organizes Holocaust remembrance gatherings in private homes. She also co-founded Inclu, a network of inclusive schools and kindergartens. Altshuler was awarded the Israel Prize in 2026 for her contributions to education and Israeli society and received the Presidential Medal of Distinction in 2023. "We are on the verge of change, going through a historic moment, and I do not have the privilege to remain on the sidelines," Altshuler stated regarding her decision to join the party. Her nomination is contingent on Eisenkot forming a government.
