Israel Resilience Party Taps Education Leader Adi Altshuler for Minister Role

Adi Altshuler, a recipient of the Israel Prize and the Presidential Medal of Distinction, is joining Gadi Eisenkot's Israel Resilience party and has been named as its candidate for Minister of Education. Altshuler, a prominent educator and social entrepreneur, has spent two decades establishing significant initiatives in Israel. She founded "Wings of Krembo," a youth movement integrating young people with and without special needs, "Zikaron BaSalon" (Memory in the Living Room), an international Holocaust commemoration project, and the "Inklu" network of inclusive schools and kindergartens, which operates in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and local authorities.

Her public service has garnered international and local recognition. In 2014, TIME magazine recognized her as one of the world's next-generation leaders. She lit a torch on Israel's 72nd Independence Day in 2020, received the Presidential Medal of Distinction in 2023, and was awarded the Israel Prize in 2026 for her contributions to society and education.

Party chairman Gadi Eisenkot welcomed Altshuler, stating, "Adi is an educator and social leader who has dedicated her life to working for Israeli society. Wings of Krembo, Zikaron BaSalon, and the inclusive schools are not just successful initiatives, they are Israeli enterprises that have built belonging, connected people, and educated an entire generation in responsibility and mutual guarantee. The State of Israel needs an excellent education system that provides knowledge and tools, but also builds a value backbone, a sense of belonging, and responsibility for the country and society."

Altshuler expressed her commitment, saying, "We are before a change, at a historic moment, and I have no right to stand aside. As a mother of children studying in Israeli schools and as someone who has done everything possible to change education from the outside and from below, I am joining Gadi Eisenkot and his team because I believe in his leadership and his sincerity to serve the country out of a deep sense of responsibility and love for Israel. Gadi, thank you for fighting for education in Israel and understanding that it is the most important thing, and thank you for the significant offer to serve as Minister of Education in the government you will establish, God willing."
