Education Leader Adi Altshuler Joins Gadi Eisenkot's Party

Just two days before candidate lists must be finalized, prominent educator Adi Altshuler announced her joining of Gadi Eisenkot's "Yashr!" party. Altshuler, a founder of the inclusive education network "Inklo" and the youth movement "Knafayim Shel Krembo," will run as a candidate for Education Minister in a potential future government led by the party.

Altshuler has dedicated over two decades to education and social initiatives. She founded "Knafayim Shel Krembo," a youth movement integrating children with and without special needs, and "Zikaron Ba'salon," an initiative that has engaged millions in Holocaust remembrance. Her work also includes establishing inclusive schools and kindergartens, aiming to connect formal and informal education, diverse backgrounds, and different generations.

Recognized globally, Altshuler was named by TIME magazine in 2014 as one of the world's six next-generation leaders. She has also been honored with lighting a torch on Israel's Independence Day in 2020, receiving the Presidential Medal of Distinction in 2023, and was awarded the Israel Prize in 2026 for her contributions to society and education.

Within the "Yashr!" party, Altshuler plans to advocate for a state education system that is inclusive and high-quality, enhance the status of educators, and broaden opportunities for all Israeli children. Eisenkot praised Altshuler's lifelong commitment to Israeli society, highlighting how her projects fostered belonging, connection, and a sense of mutual responsibility.

Altshuler stated her decision to join was driven by a belief in Eisenkot's leadership and his capacity to serve the nation with "deep responsibility and love of Israel." She added, "We are before a change, at a historic moment, and I have no right to stand aside."
