Southern District prosecutors have filed an indictment with the Juvenile Court in Beersheba against a 17-year-old from the Negev, accusing him of negligent homicide after a reckless drive that killed a passenger in his car.
According to the charge sheet, the teenager drove without a license and without insurance, and he was driving erratically. The incident took place a few weeks ago, when he was traveling to Eilat and was stopped at a checkpoint.
Police became suspicious after he pretended to be his brother. They ordered him out of the vehicle, but instead he fled. The car later overturned during the escape.
A 20-year-old passenger who was with him was killed in the crash. The indictment says the passenger was in Israel without legal permission.
