Southern Correspondent Yishai Porat Departs Channel 13 After Seven Years

Yishai Porat, the southern correspondent for Channel 13 News, announced on Sunday his departure from the news company after seven years. In a post on X, Porat expressed his affection for the workplace and its journalists, stating, "I really love this place and especially the journalists who wake up every morning to make things better here." He thanked everyone who was part of his journey covering the territories and, more recently, the southern region. Porat indicated he would take a break before returning to work, writing, "I'm taking some air and will be back soon."

Porat previously served as Channel 13's correspondent for settlements and territories. Born in 1986, he holds a bachelor's degree in communications from Sapir College. He began his journalism career at "Yediot Yerushalayim" before joining Ynet and "Yediot Ahronot," where he covered Jerusalem as a police reporter for two and a half years. Porat joined Channel 13 in September 2019.
