Hapoel Tel Aviv Signs Guard Max Heidegger to One-Year Deal

Hapoel Tel Aviv has officially signed American-Israeli guard Max Heidegger to a one-year contract, the club announced Sunday. The 29-year-old, who stands at 1.91 meters, will play for the team until the end of the 2026/27 season. Heidegger expressed his excitement about joining Hapoel, citing the club's ambitions in both domestic play and the EuroLeague.

"I am happy to be part of a club with so many aspirations, both domestically and in the EuroLeague, and I cannot be prouder to be a part of it. Head coach Dimitris Itoudis described Heidegger as a "very talented and smart player" for the point guard position and expressed anticipation for working with him. Professional director Giorgos Chinas highlighted Heidegger's experience in the Israeli league and his offensive capabilities and playmaking talent, stating he will make the team stronger and more competitive.

Heidegger joins Hapoel Tel Aviv after concluding his last season with Spanish club Burgos, where he averaged 12.4 points per game in nine appearances, shooting 62.5% from two-point range and 41.8% from three. Previously, he played for Bnei Herzliya in Israel, averaging 15.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.1 steals in 17 games. His Israeli league experience also includes a prior stint with Bnei Herzliya after starting his career in Israel with Maccabi Tel Aviv, from whom he was loaned out.
