Maccabi Haifa Midfielder Michael Ohana Nears Transfer to Ironi Tiberias

Maccabi Haifa is reportedly preparing for changes within its squad following a disappointing start to the season. Midfielder Michael Ohana is a primary candidate to depart the club, with Ironi Tiberias emerging as a strong contender for his signature. The northern club is in advanced negotiations with Ohana, alongside ongoing discussions with Hapoel Petah Tikva.

Ironi Tiberias has intensified its pursuit of Ohana, viewing him as a key target for the playmaker role, especially given the uncertain future of midfielder Guy Haddada. Haddada's potential departure in arbitration proceedings could open up a significant space in Tiberias's midfield.

While "advanced talks" are underway between Ohana and Ironi Tiberias, a final agreement on financial terms has not yet been reached. A move to Tiberias would represent a full circle for Ohana, who began his senior career at MS Ashdod before playing for several prominent Israeli clubs, including Hapoel Be'er Sheva, Beitar Jerusalem, and Maccabi Netanya.

Ohana rejoined Ashdod in 2023 and then moved to Ironi Tiberias in 2024, from where he made the significant jump to Maccabi Haifa. Last season, he made 20 appearances for Maccabi Haifa, scoring three goals and providing four assists. Despite an initially unstable position, he became an important player for the team under coach Barak Bakhar. With the current season's struggles and the desire for squad refreshment, Ohana might soon return to Tiberias.
