Maccabi Petah Tikva suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday, losing 2-1 to Ironi Tiberias. This loss, following two opening league victories, has prompted the club to focus on strengthening their squad for the remainder of the season. The team is reportedly targeting Hapoel Be'er Sheva midfielder Yoni Stoyanov. Club officials have spoken with Alona Barkat, owner of Hapoel Be'er Sheva, and are prepared to meet Stoyanov's salary demands. Stoyanov, who is also sought by other clubs, will need to decide on his next destination.

In parallel, defender Mohammad Hindi is not in coach Ziv Arie's plans. If Hindi finds a new team before the transfer window closes, he will depart; otherwise, he will remain with Maccabi Petah Tikva until at least January. The status of Omer Shirazi has also seen a decline recently.

Despite the setback, the club is not overly concerned about the early season performance but acknowledges a missed opportunity to establish a significant lead over Tiberias.
