Heat Eases in Israel But High Humidity Persists in Coastal Areas

Israel is experiencing a continued easing of heat conditions on Saturday, following a slight drop in temperatures on Friday, particularly in mountainous and inland areas. While the overall heat load has lessened, significant heat stress is still expected in the Jordan Valley, Beit She'an Valley, Sea of Galilee area, Dead Sea region, and northern Arava. Coastal areas will see more moderate temperatures, but high humidity may make the heat feel more oppressive. Mountainous regions are forecast to have more comfortable weather.

The Mediterranean coast will be choppy with waves ranging from 30 to 50 centimeters for most of the day, potentially increasing to around 70 centimeters by evening. Water temperatures are around 30 degrees Celsius, with winds strengthening slightly along the coast in the afternoon.

Overnight, skies will be partly cloudy, with coastal areas remaining warm and humid, while mountains will experience a more noticeable temperature drop.

The forecast for the rest of September indicates that the month is expected to be hotter than the multi-year average across the country, according to the Meteorological Service's seasonal forecast.

Expected temperatures for Saturday include: Jerusalem 19-30°C, Tel Aviv 25-31°C, Haifa 23-31°C, Kiryat Shmona 21-35°C, Safed 19-30°C, Tiberias 23-35°C, Ashdod 23-31°C, Beersheba 21-33°C, Mitzpe Ramon 21-32°C, and Eilat 28-39°C.
