Extreme Heat Persists in Eastern Israel Despite Widespread Cooling

Temperatures are expected to decrease in Israel's mountainous and inland regions, bringing them closer to seasonal norms, while the heat load will also lessen. This cooling trend will continue into Saturday, with clear skies following morning clouds and temperatures remaining near early September averages. However, extreme heat conditions will persist in certain areas. The Jordan Valley has been placed under the highest, "red" alert level due to dangerous heat. Additionally, a "orange" alert for severe heat is in effect for the southern Judean Desert, the Dead Sea area, the Beit She'an Valley, the Kinneret Valley, and the northern Arava Desert. Today's forecast high temperatures include Eilat at 39°C, Kiryat Shmona and Tiberias at 35°C, Beersheba at 33°C, and Jerusalem at 29°C. Tel Aviv and Haifa are forecast to reach 31°C.
