Firefighters Rescue Calf Trapped in Deep Pit in Hula Valley

Firefighters successfully rescued a calf that had fallen into a deep, open pit near Kibbutz Ayelet Hashahar in the Hula Valley on Friday. The complex operation concluded with the calf being brought to the surface unharmed.

Crews from the Galil-Golan fire station and the special rescue unit of the Northern District were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, they located the distressed and dehydrated calf at the bottom of the pit, unable to escape on its own.

Using rope systems and specialized rescue equipment, the special unit firefighters carefully descended into the pit. They secured the calf and safely hoisted it to the surface. "When we arrived, we identified the calf trapped at a great depth, in complex terrain and unable to get out on its own," said the incident commander, Reshef Oshri Almikais. "The firefighters descended to the bottom of the pit and acted with great sensitivity, professionalism, and caution. After we harnessed it to the rescue system, we safely brought it to the surface. Fortunately, the rescue ended with the calf healthy and whole."
