Hapoel Tel Aviv Coach Cautions Against Early Championship Talk

Hapoel Tel Aviv secured a dominant 3-0 victory over Beitar Jerusalem in their second match of the Israeli Premier League season, sparking excitement among fans at Bloomfield Stadium. Despite the impressive performance, head coach Eliniv Barda urged caution regarding championship aspirations, emphasizing the early stage of the season and the need to remain grounded.

"I am not rushing to declare anything, because you can be punished. We are not jumping over our belly buttons, we have our heads on our shoulders and know that the crowd today will not be like the crowd against Hapoel Ramat Gan and we will need to be prepared," Barda stated. He noted the team's fluctuating perception, moving from non-contenders after a 0-0 draw in their first match to potential title challengers after the win.

Barda highlighted the team's continuous improvement, attributing it to the integration of many young players and the time it takes for new signings to gel. He contrasted the current season with the previous one, where many players experienced their first taste of top-flight football, involving numerous player changes and experiments.

Looking ahead to the approaching transfer window deadline, Barda confirmed the club's ongoing search for reinforcements. "We are always looking to strengthen and add more quality. We are listening to the market and if we see something that can help us, we will go for it," he assured.
