Report: Draft 14-point US-Iran deal surfaces, outlining ceasefire, sanctions relief and reconstruction funds

Al Arabiya English said it obtained a copy of a 14-point agreement between the United States and Iran that allegedly lays out the terms of a memorandum of understanding. The reported document says the two sides would commit to an immediate and permanent end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon.

According to the report, another clause says the United States would prepare a comprehensive program to rebuild and develop Iran’s economy, with funding of at least $300 billion. The text also reportedly states that Iran reiterates it will never produce nuclear weapons, while the fate of enriched material will be decided in a final agreement.

The alleged draft further says the United States would lift the blockade on the Strait of Hormuz and withdraw its forces from surrounding areas within no more than 30 days. It also addresses sanctions on Iran and the unfreezing of its assets. The article does not say when the document was signed or whether either government has confirmed it.
