Omri Casspi Raises $250 Million for Tech Venture Fund
Former NBA player Omri Casspi has successfully raised $250 million for his venture capital firm, Swish Ventures, bringing its total assets under management to $800 million. This marks the third fund for Swish Ventures, which Casspi established in early 2025. The new capital will be deployed to invest approximately $20 million in about a dozen early-stage companies. These startups operate in sectors including cybersecurity, technology infrastructure, physical AI, defense, industrial AI, and government technologies.
Swish Ventures attracted significant investment from prominent backers such as the American venture capital giant Sequoia, alongside Israeli and American institutional investors, pension funds, universities, and family offices. The fund has already invested in roughly twenty companies, which are now collectively valued at over $60 billion. Notably, eight of these portfolio companies have achieved unicorn status, valued at over $1 billion.
Casspi, who previously played for several NBA franchises before returning to Israel and transitioning into high-tech investment, has seen remarkable success with Swish Ventures. The fund's portfolio includes notable companies like Cognition AI, Applied Compute, EON, Wonderful, Upwind, Long Lake, Glow, Tenzai, PointFive, Irregular, and Turnout.
