Mavis Tchibota Returns to Israel, Signs with Hapoel Acre

Congolese forward Mavis Tchibota, 30, has signed with Israeli second-division club Hapoel Acre, returning to play in Israel after a career that has seen him feature for numerous Israeli clubs. Tchibota previously played in Israel for Maccabi Tel Aviv's youth academy and senior teams, Hapoel Kfar Saba, Bnei Yehuda, Maccabi Haifa, Hapoel Tel Aviv, and Bnei Sakhnin. He won the State Cup with Bnei Yehuda before moving abroad to Ludogorets in Bulgaria. He later returned to Maccabi Haifa, where he won two league championships, and then played for Hapoel Tel Aviv. His subsequent international career included stints in Russia with Akron Tolyatti, then back to Israel with Bnei Sakhnin, followed by a move to Romania's second division with Akran Shfshi. Last season in Romania, he made 9 league appearances and one cup appearance without scoring or assisting.

Hapoel Acre also signed young player Yacouba Cheick Tidiane Tounganon from Burkina Faso and Frank Ezirozy from Ghana, who had also trialed with Hapoel Ramat Gan. Additionally, Gitai Sapir returns to the club, and Majd Dahla joins after trialing with Hapoel Petah Tikva. In a related move, Mor Naaman departed Hapoel Acre to sign with Hapoel Kfar Saba.
