Israeli Cybersecurity Firm Guardio Achieves Unicorn Status With $40 Million Funding Round

Israeli cybersecurity company Guardio announced it has raised $40 million at a valuation of $1.1 billion, officially making it a unicorn. The funding round was led by existing investors including ION Crossover Partners, Union Tech Ventures, Vintage Investment Partners, Cerca Partners, and Emerge Ventures. Wiz co-founder and CEO Assaf Rappaport also participated in this investment round.

Guardio, which focuses on protecting individual consumers rather than businesses, revealed that it has surpassed one million paying customers. The company also reported achieving $150 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), marking its fourth consecutive year of over 100% revenue growth. The newly raised capital will be used to expand Guardio's platform, which defends users against AI-driven threats, phishing, and digital scams.

Guardio's approach centers on human-centric protection, monitoring messages, emails, calls, and online activity to detect and prevent sophisticated scams, often before a user clicks a malicious link. The company highlighted that its technology can identify multi-channel attack scenarios, such as a phone call leading to a malware download on a mobile device or computer. Guardio's co-founder and CEO, Amos Feldman, stated that cyber attackers now target individuals directly, and AI has made these attacks cheaper and more accessible than ever, moving beyond traditional computer viruses to complex, AI-generated scams.

Investors expressed confidence in Guardio's performance. Gilad Shani, Managing Partner at ION Crossover Partners, pointed to the company's consistent triple-digit growth and improving unit economics. Assaf Rappaport emphasized Guardio's ability to provide deep contextual understanding, which is crucial for defending against increasingly sophisticated and personalized AI-powered scams.
