Israeli Cybersecurity Firm Guardio Reaches Unicorn Status With $40 Million Funding Round

Israeli cybersecurity firm Guardio announced it has raised $40 million at a valuation of $1.1 billion, officially achieving unicorn status. The funding round brings the company's total raised to $167 million and includes an investment from Assaf Rappaport, co-founder and CEO of fellow Israeli cybersecurity company Wiz.

The round was led by existing investors ION Crossover Partners, Union Tech Ventures, Vintage Investment Partners, Cerca Partners, and Emerge Ventures. Guardio differentiates itself by focusing on protecting individual consumers rather than businesses.

Alongside the funding announcement, Guardio revealed it has surpassed one million paying customers and achieved $150 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR). This marks the fourth consecutive year the company has reported over 100% revenue growth.

Guardio's co-founder and CEO, Amos Feldman, stated that cyber attackers now target individuals directly, a trend amplified by AI making attacks cheaper and more accessible. He emphasized that traditional antivirus software is insufficient against sophisticated, AI-generated scams that trick individuals, not just computers. The company plans to use the new funding to expand its platform, which defends users against AI threats, phishing, and digital fraud by monitoring messages, emails, calls, and online activity.

Guardio's technology aims to identify and stop scams, even those that span multiple channels and devices, before users click malicious links. The company cited FBI data indicating that end-consumer cybercrime losses in the U.S. alone exceeded $20 billion. Investors highlighted Guardio's consistent triple-digit growth and improving unit economics as key factors in their continued support.
