Israeli travel searches have surged by 30% in 2026 compared to the previous year, returning to pre-October 7 levels, according to Google search data. Despite ongoing global uncertainties, Israelis are actively planning vacations, with a notable shift in destination preferences. Vietnam has emerged as a breakout star, experiencing a 160% increase in flight searches, positioning it as a top trending destination for various demographics, from young adults to families. Popular inquiries include visa requirements, direct flight options, and nightlife in Hanoi, alongside interest in the country's famous "loop" route.

Greece remains a strong contender, with tens of thousands of searches for islands like Corfu, Kefalonia, Lesbos, and Crete, focusing on the best islands for vacations and beautiful beaches. Other rising destinations include Baku, Azerbaijan, and Krakow, Poland. Paris is also making a significant comeback, re-entering the top ten most sought-after destinations after a two-year absence during the war. Israelis are balancing searches for distant locales like New York, Bangkok, and Tokyo with a growing interest in closer, more accessible cities such as Prague, Budapest, Larnaca, and Athens.

Concurrently, there's a marked decrease in searches related to antisemitism and travel warnings, down 30% and 60% respectively compared to the previous year. This decline suggests a lessening of immediate security concerns for travelers, although specific safety queries for certain destinations persist. Israelis are increasingly seeking out perceived safer and calmer locations like Albania, Slovenia, and other Balkan countries.

Artificial intelligence is playing an increasingly integral role in vacation planning, with a 120% rise in AI-related travel searches. Israelis are using AI for personalized itinerary planning, such as tailoring trips around specific events, creating family-friendly routes, or finding kosher travel options. AI is also being utilized to understand traveler rights concerning flight cancellations or delays and for comparing prices on flights and vacation packages, reflecting a more informed and tech-savvy approach to booking travel.
