Israeli travel habits are shifting significantly in 2026, with a notable increase in flight searches and a decrease in concerns about antisemitism, according to Google data reported by Walla. Flight-related searches have surged by 30% year-over-year, returning to pre-October 7 levels, and even surpassing those seen during the "Lion's Roar" operation. This indicates a growing confidence among Israelis in planning international trips.

Vietnam has emerged as a breakout destination, with searches for flights to the country skyrocketing by 160% in the past year. It is becoming a trendy choice for various demographics, from young adults to families, with travelers inquiring about specific routes, visa requirements, direct flights, and nightlife in Hanoi. Greece also remains a strong contender, with increased interest in islands like Corfu, Kefalonia, Lesbos, and Crete.

Other popular destinations include Baku, Azerbaijan, and Krakow, Poland. While long-haul cities like New York, Bangkok, and Tokyo remain favorites for holidays, closer and more affordable options such as Prague, Budapest, Larnaca, and Athens are gaining traction. Notably, Paris has reappeared in the top ten destinations after a two-year absence during the war.

Beyond destination choices, travel preferences are evolving. Wellness tourism has seen a dramatic 210% rise in searches, alongside increased interest in road trips, safaris, and first-class flights. Concerns about safety are diminishing, with antisemitism-related searches down 30% and travel advisory searches down 60% from their peak in November 2024. However, some Israelis still seek specific safety information for destinations like Spain, Italy, and Greece.

Artificial intelligence is playing an increasingly integral role in travel planning, with AI-related travel searches up 120%. Israelis are using AI for personalized itineraries, including those catering to specific events, family needs, or kosher requirements. AI is also being used to understand passenger rights regarding flight cancellations and delays, and for price comparisons before booking.
