Five Israeli Children Orphaned After Losing Both Parents Within Two and a Half Years

The youngest of the siblings, an 11-year-old boy, experienced the profound grief of losing his father just two and a half years after his mother passed away from an illness. During the Shiva, the boy expressed his anguish, stating, "Double orphanhood is a pain that cannot even be imagined," a sentiment that moved all present to tears.

Two and a half years ago, the children mourned their mother's death after a prolonged illness. Their father, Rabbi Yaniv Fischer, 50, recently passed away after a short illness, leaving the five children without either parent. The children have known significant hardship, having witnessed their mother's struggle with illness and then grappling with her loss before their father's recent passing.

Consolers describe the situation as deeply challenging, finding it difficult to offer adequate words of comfort to the children. The reality of their loss is setting in, with the understanding that their struggle is just beginning.
