False Alarm Sounds in Upper Galilee After Drone Breach
An air raid siren sounded at 4:26 AM on Wednesday, September 2, in communities along the Galilee Panhandle, including Kfar Yuval, Ma'ayan Baruch, and Dafna. The IDF Spokesperson's Unit explained that an unmanned aerial vehicle had crossed the Lebanese border. "Interception attempts were made, and the results are being studied. There were no casualties," the army added.
Later, it was reported that preliminary investigation results indicated the alarm was triggered by a false system activation, with interceptors likely launched at a false target. This was the first such incident in three months, with the "all clear" sounding 15 minutes later. The Home Front Command did not impose any restrictions following the drone's launch.
The last reported drone incursion into the Rosh HaNikra area was on May 30. At that time, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit stated the drone did not reach its target, without elaborating on the circumstances.
