Religious Zionism and Zehut Parties Agree to Joint Election Run

Bezalel Smotrich, chairman of the Religious Zionism party, and Moshe Feiglin, chairman of the Zehut party, announced Tuesday evening that their parties will run together as a technical bloc in the upcoming elections. Under the agreement, Feiglin will be placed in the second position on the joint list, with additional spots allocated at numbers 8, 10, and 11 for Zehut.

Following this merger, efforts will be made to also bring in the party led by Ofer Winter. Feiglin expressed optimism on his Facebook page, writing, "With God's help, we will succeed." Smotrich reportedly cut short a tour in southern Israel earlier to finalize the details with Feiglin at the Religious Zionism party headquarters.

A poll released Monday by "Midgam" for Channel 12 News indicated that a joint list of Religious Zionism and Zehut would currently garner 5 Knesset seats. The same poll projected "Yesh!" receiving 24 seats, Likud 23, "Yachad" 15, the Democrats 11, Yisrael Beiteinu 9, United Torah Judaism 8, Otzma Yehudit 7, the Joint List 7, Shas 7, Ra'am 4, and that Ofer Winter's party would not pass the electoral threshold.
