Religious Zionism and Zehut Parties Agree to Run Together
Bezalel Smotrich, chairman of the Religious Zionism party, and Moshe Feiglin, chairman of the Zehut party, announced Tuesday evening their agreement to run together on a single slate in the upcoming elections. Under the deal, Feiglin will be placed second on the list, immediately after Smotrich. Zehut will also receive spots 8, 10, and 11 on the joint list. This is described as a technical merger intended to allow the parties to run as one but to split into separate factions after the election. The agreement also leaves open the possibility of adding Ofer Winter, chairman of the "Am Israel" party, to the list. If Winter joins, Feiglin would likely be moved to the third position.
