Israeli Teen's Viral TikTok Interview Roasts London Street Interviewer

A 16-year-old Israeli girl, Romy Stein, has gone viral after cleverly turning the tables on a London-based TikTok street interviewer known for his prank-style questioning. The interviewer, from the "brainwrappedgram" account, attempted to guess Stein's country of origin through a series of leading questions. Stein, recognizing the interviewer's tactic, responded with "Everyone hates us" and later called him "stupid" in Hebrew, a phrase the interviewer had apparently prompted her to say.

The video, filmed in London during a trip to see Ariana Grande, quickly gained traction, accumulating nearly 3 million views across platforms like Instagram and TikTok within 24 hours. The interviewer's typical method involves asking obvious questions and then making incorrect guesses, a pattern Stein quickly identified. Her response, particularly her use of Hebrew and the "everyone hates us" remark, resonated with many viewers.

The video's virality also sparked a significant reaction in the comments sections, with many pro-Palestinian comments directed at Stein. However, the video was also shared on pro-Israel pages, such as "jewishbreakingnews," where discussions debated whether the interviewer was genuinely ignorant or intentionally provoking. Stein noted that while she expected negative comments, she was also heartened by the large number of supportive messages from Israelis and Jewish communities.

Stein explained in an interview with mako that she initially thought the crew was filming a commercial and only later realized they were creating TikTok content. She admitted to playing along with the interviewer's "prank" and intentionally making him the butt of the joke. She also revealed that her use of Hebrew, including the phrase "Ricky, the bitch," was part of an inside joke with her friends, and that the interviewer had asked her to call him stupid in her own language.

The incident significantly boosted Stein's TikTok following, doubling it to over 2,400 followers in a day, even without being tagged. She mentioned deleting an initial English response to avoid engaging with pro-Palestinian commenters, opting instead to communicate in Hebrew.
