Israeli Passengers Demand Exit From Stranded Plane; Pilot Threatens Police
An Arkia Airlines flight from Israel to Mykonos was forced to land in Athens on Tuesday due to a technical malfunction. Many Israeli passengers became stranded on the aircraft for over an hour, demanding to disembark against crew instructions.
The pilot eventually warned the passengers, "I will call the police if you do not sit down." An Arkia flight attendant also urged passengers to avoid violence.
Among the stranded passengers was electronic music producer Asi Swisa, known as Skazi. Footage shared by Swisa captured the flight attendant explaining the situation and the pilot's subsequent warning.
Arkia stated that the plane experienced a hydraulic issue, necessitating a safe landing in Athens for optimal repair. Maintenance crews are working on the problem, and the flight is expected to resume to Mykonos as soon as possible.
