Top Israeli Artists to Perform at Fundraiser for Women's Safety Forum

The Michal Sela Forum will host its first-ever fundraising event on October 19th at the Tel Aviv Culture Hall, featuring a lineup of prominent Israeli musicians. Efrat Gosh, Nurit Galron, Arkadi Duchin, Yuval Dayan, and Yoni Rechter are scheduled to perform before an audience of approximately 2,500 people. The entire event is being produced on a voluntary basis, with all proceeds dedicated to the organization's mission.

The Michal Sela Forum was established in memory of Michal Sela, who was murdered by her partner. The organization works to prevent violence against women by providing practical and technological safety solutions. These include protective dogs, private security, cameras, panic buttons, and funding for self-defense classes for women facing threats.

The fundraiser comes amid alarming statistics on domestic violence released by the forum. In 2025, the organization reported an 82% increase in murders of women within families. Its hotline received 7,369 calls from women experiencing violence, a 58% rise compared to 2024. Since its inception, the forum has provided protection to 1,049 threatened women and 3,986 children, and claims its safety measures have helped thwart approximately 53 murder and severe violence incidents.

A spokesperson for the Michal Sela Forum stated, "This fundraising event is an evening of culture and hope, but first and foremost, its goal is to save lives. The moving commitment of the artists proves that the fight against violence towards women is a mission for all of Israeli society."
