Top Israeli Artists to Perform at Fundraiser for Women's Safety Forum

The Michal Sela Forum will host its first-ever fundraising event on October 19th at the Tel Aviv Opera House, featuring prominent Israeli musicians. Performers scheduled to appear include Efrat Gosh, Nurit Galron, Arkadi Duchin, Yuval Dayan, and Yoni Rechter. The event is expected to draw an audience of approximately 2,500 people, with all proceeds dedicated to the organization's activities.

The Michal Sela Forum was established in memory of Michal Sela, who was murdered by her partner. The organization works to prevent violence against women by providing practical and technological protection solutions. These services include providing guard dogs, private security, cameras, and panic buttons to women under threat, as well as funding self-defense classes.

The fundraiser comes amid alarming statistics on domestic violence released by the forum. In 2025, the organization reported an 82% increase in femicides and a 58% rise in calls to its hotline compared to 2024, with 7,369 women reporting experiences of violence. Since its inception, the forum has provided protection to 1,049 threatened women and 3,986 children, and claims its protective measures have helped thwart approximately 53 potential murders and severe violence incidents.

A spokesperson for the Michal Sela Forum stated, "This fundraising event is an evening of culture and hope, but first and foremost, its goal is to save lives. The moving mobilization of the artists proves that the fight against violence towards women is a mission for all of Israeli society."
