Teenager Arrested for Assaulting Bus Driver in Beit Shemesh
A 48-year-old bus driver was moderately injured and hospitalized after being assaulted by a 15-year-old passenger during a dispute on a bus in Beit Shemesh on Sunday. The incident began with an argument between the driver and the passenger, escalating when the suspect allegedly spat at the driver and then physically attacked him.
Police were called to the scene, but the suspect had already fled. The injured driver was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Following an intensive investigation and search, police located the Jerusalem resident, aged 15, during the night. He was arrested and taken to the Beit Shemesh police station for questioning.
Authorities are expected to bring the teenager before a judge on Monday to request an extension of his detention as the investigation continues.
