Radio Host Guy Peleg Responds to Backlash Over On-Air Remarks
Radio host Guy Peleg of 103fm has responded to widespread criticism following a broadcast where he appeared to reprimand technician Shaked Murg. A video clip of the exchange circulated online over the weekend, drawing anger from many viewers who perceived Peleg's tone as condescending and accusatory.
In the clip, Peleg told Murg she was 'running from the ball' and 'lacked leadership,' criticizing her for arriving at the broadcast at the last minute. He stated that 'big players don't arrive at the last minute; they arrive on time, prepare for it. You need to arrive on time and not too late. You're running from the ball again.'
Social media users reacted strongly, with one commenter writing, 'Maybe I didn't understand the humor, but Guy Peleg's style towards broadcast technician Shaked Murg felt uncomfortable to me. Or am I missing something?' Others called Peleg 'arrogant' and accused him of workplace bullying.
During Sunday's broadcast, both Peleg and Murg addressed the controversy. Peleg stated, 'The hate machine succeeded in distorting and blackening. Shaked Murg is my good friend at the radio. I have never reprimanded her, never scolded her, certainly not given her a hearing on the air. Between Shaked Murg and me, there is a special connection, at least that's how I feel. To present me as someone who bullies her is madness.'
Murg also commented on the situation, saying, 'I don't know how to process the situation that happened to me last weekend. It was such a strange thing, that from an anonymous girl I'm suddenly receiving messages about things. It came out crooked, we are crooked people.'
