Hapoel Jerusalem Sues Hapoel Tel Aviv for $600,000 Over Carrington Transfer
Hapoel Jerusalem has filed a lawsuit seeking 2.3 million shekels (approximately $600,000) from Hapoel Tel Aviv concerning the transfer of American-Israeli guard Kadyn Carrington. The Jerusalem club claims entitlement to a transfer fee, arguing that Carrington played for them for four consecutive seasons. According to the Basketball Association's regulations, a team is eligible for a "development/transfer fee" if a player has played for them for three consecutive seasons in the Premier League.
Hapoel Jerusalem is demanding 20% of Carrington's gross salary for one season. This claim is contingent on Hapoel Tel Aviv presenting Carrington's player contract and the actual amounts specified within it, as submitted to the budget control.
Carrington joined Hapoel Tel Aviv this past summer. The dispute was submitted to the Basketball Association's arbitration institution.
