4-Year-Old Boy Killed After Being Hit by Bus Near Carmi Tzur
A 4-year-old boy was killed Tuesday evening after being struck by a bus near the entrance to Carmi Tzur in Gush Etzion. The child, a pedestrian, was hit on Highway 3515 near the settlement gate, and the initial report reached Magen David Adom’s Jerusalem district dispatch center.
Large police and rescue teams rushed to the scene. Magen David Adom medics and paramedics found the boy in critical condition with multiple-system trauma and carried out advanced treatment and prolonged resuscitation efforts.
Despite the attempts to save him, the rescue organization later said the child was pronounced dead at the scene after the resuscitation efforts failed. Police opened a broad investigation into the circumstances of the fatal crash.
MDA senior medic Avital Appel said, “We saw the child lying on the road unconscious, with no pulse and no breathing, and with very severe injuries to his body, after being hit by a bus. We gave him advanced medical treatment and performed prolonged resuscitation, but unfortunately his injuries were severe and we could only pronounce him dead.”
