Six-Year-Old Daniel Klapholtz Killed in Bus Collision Near Karmei Tzur
Daniel Klapholtz, a boy about six years old, was killed on Monday evening after being struck by a bus on Road 3515 near the entrance to Karmei Tzur in the Gush Etzion area. Magen David Adom medics and paramedics were called to the scene and carried out prolonged resuscitation efforts, but he was pronounced dead there.
Police arrived and opened an investigation into the circumstances of the crash. Initial findings indicate that the child was riding a small battery-powered toy vehicle, a bimba, at the entrance to the settlement when he was hit and became trapped under the bus wheels.
MDA senior medic Avital Apel said they found the boy lying on the road, unconscious, with no pulse and no breathing, and with very severe injuries after being struck by the bus. She said advanced medical treatment and extensive CPR were attempted, but the injuries were too severe and “there was nothing left for us to do but pronounce his death.”
The regional council issued a condolence statement, saying it was shocked and deeply pained to announce the death of Daniel Klapholtz, age 6, from the bus strike in the center of Karmei Tzur. It said that despite repeated resuscitation attempts he was declared dead at the scene, and sent support to his parents Moshe and Michal, his grandmother Maya, his uncles and the wider family.
