The story · English

A six-year-old boy, Daniel Klapoltz, was killed on Monday evening in a severe road accident on Route 3515 near the entrance to Karmi Tzur. The family, Klapoltz, also identified as Halevi, had moved to the settlement from Beitar Illit and had been living in their new home for only two days when the tragedy occurred.

Magen David Adom said the first report reached its 101 emergency hotline at 6:21 p.m. Paramedics and medics arrived and carried out prolonged resuscitation efforts, but the child suffered catastrophic multi-system injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

ZAKA volunteers from the Shai District, the Beitar Illit team and the Gush Etzion team worked for hours to preserve the dignity of the dead and collect evidence. Volunteers Yossi Holtzman, Avishai Partush, Moshe Tzinuvirt and Natan Schweb described the site as extremely קשה and painful, saying the boy apparently rode a push scooter downhill, struck the rear of an bus near the junction, and was crushed under its rear wheels.

The funeral took place at midnight, when family members, acquaintances and many residents accompanied Daniel on his final journey. The procession left at 12:00 a.m. from the regional cemetery in Gush Etzion, where he was buried. The family is sitting shiva at their new apartment on Einav Street 6, apartment 10, third floor, in Karmi Tzur.
