7-Year-Old Boy Dies After Being Hit by Bus Near Breslov Talmud Torah in Modiin Illit
Moshe (Moishe) Glinski, a 7-year-old third-grade student at the Breslov Talmud Torah in Modiin Illit, tragically died after being struck by a bus while returning home on Thursday, the 17th of Tammuz. The accident occurred on Rabbi Akiva Street in the Brachfeld neighborhood as Moshe was crossing the road near the Talmud Torah following an early dismissal due to a fast day.
Magen David Adom paramedics arrived at the scene but were forced to declare Moshe dead at the site. Volunteers from ZAKA’s Modiin Illit team responded to the scene to preserve the dignity of the deceased, collect evidence, and assist with the release of the body for burial. Shlomo Gottlieb, commander of ZAKA Modiin Illit, described the scene as "difficult and painful."
Moshe was the son of Rabbi Aharon Glinski, a prominent figure at the Breslov study hall in Modiin Illit, grandson of Rabbi Nachman Glinski from Emmanuel, and great-grandson of the revered Rabbi Yaakov Glinski. The Talmud Torah community remembered Moshe as a beloved, joyful, and radiant child. Just the day before, he had participated with friends in a prayer at Rachel’s Tomb to mark the completion of studying the Book of Genesis, an event now postponed due to this tragedy.
