Six-Year-Old Daniel Kalpholtz Killed in Bus Crash in Gush Etzion
Six-year-old Daniel Kalpholtz was killed on Tuesday after being hit by a bus in Karmei Tzur, in the Gush Etzion area. Magen David Adom crews were called to the scene and found him in critical condition. After prolonged resuscitation efforts, they pronounced him dead.
An initial police inquiry said Kalpholtz was struck while riding a bimba, a small electric vehicle, at the entrance to the settlement, and was trapped under the bus. Police have opened an investigation into the crash.
Senior MDA medic Avital Appel said, “We saw the child lying on the road, unconscious, with no pulse and no breathing, with very severe injuries to his body, after being hit by a bus.” She added, “We provided advanced medical treatment and carried out prolonged resuscitation efforts, but unfortunately his injuries were severe and all we could do was pronounce him dead.”
The Gush Etzion Regional Council issued a statement after his death, saying, “We embrace the parents Moshe and Michal, the grandmother Maya Fox, the uncles and the entire family.”
