Israel Strikes South Lebanon With Airstrikes, Shelling, and Ground Incursion

Israeli warplanes conducted airstrikes on the valley of Zebqine and surrounding areas in southern Lebanon on Monday morning. Concurrently, intense artillery shelling targeted the towns of Mansouri, Majdal Zoun, and adjacent valleys. The Israeli military also deployed illumination flares over villages in the western and central sectors before dawn, followed by explosions in homes in Mansouri, as shelling and explosions continued throughout the night.

In the Tyre district, Israeli forces focused explosions on Mansouri, with the sounds echoing in villages of Sidon and the Lebanese coast. Artillery fire reached Khayyam, Wadi Zebqine, Yahmar Al-Shaqif, Zawtar Al-Sharqiyya, Mefdon, Mansouri, and Hadata. The Israeli army also carried out explosions in Majdal Zoun, Mansouri, Yahmar Al-Shaqif, and the outskirts of Barchait. Overnight Sunday, warplanes struck the towns of Bani Hayyan, Al-Qantarah, Nabatieh Al-Fawqa, and Mansouri.

On Monday morning, Israeli warplanes launched a series of raids on villages in the Nabatieh district, targeting the vicinity of Ali Al-Taher and Kafr Tibnit, alongside ongoing artillery shelling. In a separate development, an Israeli force comprising three Merkava tanks advanced towards the town of Deir Mimas, blocking its entrance and temporarily obstructing civilian movement. During the incursion, Israeli soldiers searched homes and damaged telephone poles before continuing their operations.

Other notable events included a low-altitude Israeli drone flight over the southern suburbs of Beirut, airstrikes near Ali Al-Taher, and explosions in Mansouri, on the outskirts of Barchait, and Yahmar Al-Shaqif.

Diplomatically, attention is focused on New York, where Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and Foreign Minister Yusuf Sawwan are holding meetings with Arab and foreign leaders on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, amid the ongoing military escalation in southern Lebanon.
