National Insurance to Distribute Child Benefits in Israel This Week

Israel's National Insurance Institute is set to distribute child benefit payments to families across the country on September 20th. These monthly payments are intended to help Israeli residents avoid financial hardship due to factors beyond their control, such as illness, injury, or old age.

The child benefit is a monthly payment provided by the National Insurance Institute to parents in Israel for each child under the age of 18. Eligibility extends to Israeli resident parents for children under 18 who are unmarried and reside in Israel, as well as adoptive parents and legal guardians. Foreign workers residing in Israel with their children and who have worked in the country for at least six months are also eligible.

Payments are typically deposited directly into the bank accounts of eligible parents on the 20th of each month. In most cases, the payment begins automatically about a month after a child's birth, based on hospital reports, and no special application is needed for a typical birth.

The monthly benefit amount varies based on the child's position within the family. The first child receives 173 shekels per month. The second child receives 219 shekels per month. For the third child, the amount is 219 shekels, with an additional 113 shekels for parents receiving certain subsistence benefits. Fourth and subsequent children each receive 219 shekels per month.
