The story · English

Mati Gurion, son of renowned Israeli musician Israel Gurion and Miki Gurion, passed away on Friday at the age of 49 after a battle with a serious illness. His mother Miki expressed her grief on her personal Facebook page, writing, "Our dear son Mati Gurion passed away this evening. Rest well, my beloved, my heart is crying."

Mati was a talented guitarist and drummer, known for playing acoustic guitar on songs such as "The Riders' Convoy" and "The World in Black and White" from the album "Singing the Dudaim," a collaboration between his father and Asaf Amdursky. He also performed alongside his father in the past. The record store "The Third Ear," where Mati worked, mourned his untimely death, describing him as a longtime friend of the store, a music and cinema enthusiast, knowledgeable, witty, and beloved. They extended condolences to his family and friends, saying, "May his memory be blessed."

Israel Gurion, Mati's father, is a prominent figure in Israeli culture, known as a singer, musician, actor, comedian, director, painter, mime, voice actor, and composer. He was a member of the Dudaim duo with Benny Amdursky and part of the groups Gesher HaYarkon Trio and The Good, The Bad and The Girl.
