Mati Gurion, a musician and son of renowned Israeli artist Israel Gurion, passed away at the age of 49 following a battle with a serious illness. Mati was a guitarist and drummer who occasionally performed alongside his father and contributed to the 2013 album "Singing the Dudaim." He also worked for many years at the Tel Aviv music store "The Third Ear."

His mother, Miki Gurion, announced his death on Facebook, expressing deep sorrow and wishing him peace. The Third Ear music store also mourned his passing, describing him as a knowledgeable, witty, and beloved music and cinema enthusiast.

Israel Gurion, Mati's father, is a celebrated Israeli singer, musician, actor, comedian, director, painter, mime, voice actor, and composer with a career spanning over six decades. He was a member of the Dudaim duo with Benny Amdursky and other musical groups. In 2024, Israel Gurion's wife revealed that he had developed dementia and had become bedridden, ceasing public appearances.
