British Host Challenges Hamas Official Over October 7 Atrocities and Hostage Taking

The story · English

In a tense interview, British presenter Piers Morgan confronted senior Hamas official Ezzat Hamad over the terror group’s actions during the October 7 massacre. Hamad denied that Hamas committed crimes against humanity, suggesting only a possible "mistake," but Morgan rejected this, accusing Hamas of war crimes and crossing all moral boundaries.

Morgan reminded Hamad of his previous statement that Hamas would repeat attacks and is committed to Israel’s destruction, questioning why Israelis should trust such claims. Hamad responded by highlighting the Palestinian people’s long-term occupation, but Morgan pressed him on the killing of 3,000 Hamas militants who crossed into Israel, the abduction of over 250 hostages including Holocaust survivors and infants, and the deliberate targeting of civilians.

Despite Hamad’s insistence that Hamas never ordered killing civilians, Morgan cited specific atrocities such as the massacre at a music festival and the burning of people alive in their homes, labeling these acts as war crimes. Morgan also clarified that his criticism of Israel’s response to Gaza does not absolve Hamas of responsibility for the October 7 attacks.

When Hamad questioned why Morgan labels Hamas a terrorist organization, Morgan pointed to the horrific crimes committed on October 7 as justification. The interview concluded with Morgan demanding to know why Hamas took infants hostage, a question Hamad deflected by denying any orders to take civilians hostage, but Morgan remained unconvinced.

Ezzat Hamad is among Hamas leaders targeted by Israel in a September strike in Doha aimed at disrupting the group’s leadership in Qatar.
