Gaza Journalist and Israeli Woman Clash on Live TV Over October 7th
A heated exchange occurred on the Israeli news program "Yoman Tzahorayim" between Sabin Taasa, a resident of Nativ HaAsara whose husband and son were murdered on October 7th, and Sami Obaid, a journalist from Gaza.
Taasa described the ongoing fear among Nativ HaAsara residents, stating they struggle to sleep and worry about future attacks, believing Hamas is already preparing for another assault. She dismissed claims of hardship in Gaza, asserting, "I don't care about your situation." She questioned Obaid's whereabouts on October 7th and accused Gazans of celebrating the massacre.
Obaid countered by detailing the dire living conditions in Gaza, citing a lack of money, electricity, and destroyed homes, and claimed Hamas is currently too weak to repeat the October 7th attack. He stated that Gazans are dependent on Israel in many areas.
Taasa responded emotionally, recounting the personal tragedy of losing her husband and son, and questioning the fate of her son who was shot six times. She expressed disbelief in the distinction between Hamas and Gaza's civilian population, stating, "There are no innocent people." She suggested Gazans seek help from Jordan, Egypt, or Qatar, citing Qatari funding.
When discussing the future of Gaza, Obaid stated there is "no future" under the current Netanyahu government and expressed a desire for peace and reconstruction. He denied personal responsibility for October 7th, asking if Gazans were the victims. Taasa rejected this, calling for the transfer of Gazan civilians to other countries and the occupation of Gaza, concluding, "We have no trust in you, it's over."
