Turkish Citizen Arrested in UK for Alleged Hamas Funding Under Humanitarian Aid Cover
Mohamed Youssef Hasana, a 45-year-old Turkish citizen from Istanbul, was arrested in the United Kingdom on suspicion of transferring funds and supplies to Hamas. This information comes from an indictment filed in the United States. Hasana is currently detained pending extradition proceedings that would allow his transfer to New York. According to the U.S. prosecution, Hasana held a senior position in what is described as a "fake international humanitarian organization." U.S. prosecutor Jamie McDonald stated that Hasana worked in close cooperation with Hamas's senior leadership under the guise of providing humanitarian aid.
