The story · English

Amir Hisham Muhammad Titi, a 34-year-old resident of Baana in northern Israel, was arrested last month by the Shin Bet and the Northern District Police on suspicion of spying for Iran. Titi worked as an ambulance driver, which gave him unrestricted access to hospitals across Israel. During his employment, he reportedly transmitted information and photos about the emergency preparedness and routine operations of several hospitals to his Iranian handlers.

Investigations revealed that during one hospital visit in northern Israel, Titi photographed a senior official present at the facility. Beyond his work-related tasks, he was also assigned to document various locations, including the Hostages Square in Tel Aviv, where he held a sign with images of hostages, a protest in Haifa’s Horev Center, and a moshav in the Sharon region where a senior security figure resided.

Titi received tens of thousands of shekels for these missions, paid through family members’ bank accounts and digital wallets. Authorities described his actions as a severe breach, aiding an enemy during wartime. Following his interrogation, an indictment was filed against him this morning at the Haifa District Court by the Haifa District Prosecutor’s Office, represented by attorney Yehuda Dayan.
