The story · English

Amir Hesham Muhammad Titi, a 34-year-old resident of Baana and ambulance driver, was arrested last month by tactical Border Police forces on suspicion of conducting espionage activities for Iran. Following an investigation, an indictment was filed against him at the Haifa District Court, represented by attorney Yehuda Dayan from the Haifa District Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation revealed that Titi exploited his unrestricted access to hospitals across Israel to relay information and images about hospital preparedness during routine and emergency situations to his Iranian handlers. During one hospital visit in northern Israel, he was documented photographing a senior official present at the facility.

Beyond his professional duties, Titi was tasked with additional missions, including sending footage from various locations such as the Hostages Square in Tel Aviv, where he captured images of a protester holding signs with hostage photos, a demonstration at Haifa's Horev Center, and a moshav in the Sharon region where a senior security figure resided. He received tens of thousands of shekels for these activities, paid through family members' accounts and digital wallets.

Israeli police described the case as "a serious act by an Israeli citizen aiding the enemy during wartime." The Shin Bet and police emphasized their commitment to addressing any Israeli involvement in activities threatening national security and warned the public against enemy attempts to recruit Israeli citizens for covert operations, urging vigilance against such efforts.
