Israel Recalls Chinese-Made 4-in-1 Baby Stroller Over Safety Hazards
The Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry announced an immediate recall on Wednesday for a Chinese-made 4-in-1 baby stroller, model G308, produced by ZhongShan E-V Baby Daily Products and sold under the MeiLY+ brand. The recall follows a safety inspection by the Standards Institution of Israel, which found the stroller does not meet official Israeli safety standards.
The defects identified include the absence of a double locking mechanism, which could cause the stroller to fold unintentionally, posing risks of injury, entrapment, or the baby falling. Additionally, the stroller failed stability tests, increasing the risk of tipping over. There is also a flaw in the footrest lifting mechanism, featuring openings that could trap body parts. The stroller lacks proper parking and braking systems when transporting the child facing forward.
The importer, Yonama Israel, has urged consumers to immediately stop using the stroller and return it for repairs at their warehouse located at Mivtza Kadesh 2, Givat Shmuel. This recall comes amid other recent product safety concerns, including a recall of a baby formula substitute by Panda due to poisoning fears.
