Intercept fragments and debris from a missile fired from Iran earlier this week hit the Ramat David Air Force Base in northern Israel. There were no casualties and no damage.

The launches from Iran came after the strike in Beirut's Dahieh neighborhood on Sunday. The IDF said the Air Force intercepted all the launches, and fires broke out at several locations as a result of the interceptions. On the night between Sunday and Monday, Israel responded, with the Air Force striking military targets in Iran, as well as the petrochemical complex in Mahshahr in the southwest of the Islamic Republic.

A senior security source commented on the latest round and confirmed that the Air Force "used only 5 percent of its power" and added, "The IDF received an order from the political echelon to stop the strikes." According to him, "There was no round, because we did not start one. It was an 'exchange of fire.' If we had continued, we would have continued with full force."

As part of the operation, the same senior official said, eight advanced Iranian surface-to-air missile launchers and two radars were attacked. Dozens of fighter jets took part in the strikes, mostly F-16s. Meanwhile, the Iranians fired 22 missiles, but none landed in populated areas.

The official also addressed international involvement and revealed that, contrary to denials in the United States, the Americans took an active part and in practice participated in intercepting the missiles. Regarding the northern front and threats from Lebanon, he stressed, "If there is an interception, we will intercept."

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir issued a direct threat to Iran yesterday during a visit to commander training exercises in northern Israel, and made clear that the IDF is prepared to expand operational activity. "The Iranian attempt to set equations and change reality will fail," he said, adding that "the strike we carried out was preparation for a much more significant and heavier blow. We are ready to return and deliver another severe and deep blow to Iran."

In his remarks to the commanders, the chief of staff referred to the level of General Staff readiness and said, "The IDF has held and continues to hold immediate readiness to return to fighting in Iran. All of our defense and attack systems were alert and prepared. We intercepted the threats fired at us and attacked in Iran quickly and forcefully."

The launches came after two months without fire from Iran toward Israel, מאז the ceasefire was declared on April 8, after 41 days of the "Raging Lion" war.
