Jakko 7 Plug-In Hybrid Gains More Features at Same Price Amid Market Competition

Jakko 7 continues to perform strongly in Israel's automotive market, ranking third in sales for the first half of 2026 with 7,074 units sold, nearly all being the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant. Following a similar move by local distributor Kamobile with the Hyundai Kona Hybrid last month, Kamobile has now upgraded the trim levels of the Jakko 7 PHEV by adding more equipment without increasing the vehicle's price.

The Jakko 7 PHEV is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 143 horsepower combined with a 204-horsepower electric motor, delivering a total of 342 horsepower to the front wheels via a reduction gearbox. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds. The 18.3 kWh battery offers an electric-only range of 91 kilometers, with a home charging time of three hours and fast charging from 30% to 80% in 20 minutes. The vehicle also features a 3.3 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology.

The updated trim levels include the entry-level Elegance, the mid-level Premium, and the top Luxury trim. The Premium trim now adds driver seat and side mirror memory, lumbar support, easy entry system, ventilated front seats, wireless charging pad, electric tailgate, and an 8-speaker Sony audio system, all while maintaining the same price of 190,000 shekels. The Luxury trim retains its features, including a 14.8-inch multimedia system and head-up display, priced at 203,000 shekels. The upgrades raise questions about the future of the Luxury trim, as enhanced features in lower trims might lead to its phase-out or further updates.

These enhancements come without changes to the powertrain or safety systems, reflecting a strategic response to competition and consumer demand for better-equipped vehicles at stable prices.
